2026-10-06 18:49 UTC · E6 measured on the same 136 tests: pnpm data:test stdout 31409 bytes (835 lines, TAP) before, 573 bytes (22 lines) after; 203 of those are the dots and the counts, the rest is pnpm's own two headers. The full spec report (13.6 KB for 140 tests) goes to logs/test-output/data-test-latest.log, git-ignored (rewritten each run). Counts stay in verify.mjs's own pattern: '[# pass 140 · # fail 0]', unchanged parser; tools/quiet-reporter.mjs wraps node's dot reporter, drops node:internal frames, adds the stderr of a file that failed to load, then prints '# tests / # pass / # fail' (+ cancelled/skipped/todo when non-zero, + '# full report <path>' after a failure). Failure proof in a scratch copy outside the repo (3 failing throwaway tests): exit 1, assertion messages 'expected the sum to be three but got two' and 'boom from b' on stdout, X marks, '# fail 3', 1490 bytes vs 2465 with the plain dot reporter; permanent in packages/game-data/tests/quiet-reporter.test.mjs (4 tests: green run, failing assertion, unloadable file, counts). verify.mjs --changed runs 'playwright test --only-changed' (1.63: uncommitted tracked changes + untracked specs + specs importing a changed file); proven in a scratch git workspace: nothing changed -> pass '[no spec changed, none ran]', a.spec.ts touched -> only it ran, new failing spec -> exit 1, --e2e with --changed -> usage error. Test run 03 of this task failed because of an ordering bug in my own scratch proof script (it restored the committed verify.mjs after copying the new one); fixed and rerun as run 04. Not run for real: the wiki e2e (it would start the shared port-4311 server while other work may use it); --only-changed --list on the current tree selects 0 of 358 tests.
2026-10-06 18:50 UTC · Correction to the measurement note: the 573 bytes are 18 lines, and the dots plus the counts are 175 bytes of them (pnpm's two headers are the other 398). Before 31409 bytes / 835 lines, after 573 bytes / 18 lines, same 136 tests, 0 bytes on stderr in both.
