Items, crafting & economy
11 equipment slots incl. jewelry, rarity by affix count with Alt-revealed tiers, the 12 orbs (999 stacks), gems and sockets, refinement to +15, consumables, two materials per monster, vendors, mounts, gold and the Zoe top-up currency.
Decided in ADR-011, ADR-017, ADR-018
and ADR-020. Numbers live in items.json, consumables.json, materials.json,
mounts.json and vendors.json; all prices and odds are proposed until the economy simulation runs.
Every item can be hovered (or long-pressed on mobile) for its popup; the Items page shows them all.
◆Equipment: 11 slots
| Group | Slots | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Weapons | main hand, off hand | Two-handers lock the off hand. Dual wield needs a matching one-hand family. Shields only with Sword & Shield. |
| Armour | helmet, armour, gloves, boots | Three classes: bronze plate (STR, armour), trail leather (AGI, evasion), lantern silk (INT, ward). Any build can wear any class if it meets the stat requirement. |
| Belt | belt | Holds the movement gem (Mouse2) and up to 2 belt supports. |
| Jewelry | necklace, earring, ring ×2 | Implicit bonus by tier, affixes like gear, no sockets. Never sold white above T5. |
- Visible armour: the equipped item picks the actual mesh. Costumes (Zoe) override visuals only.
- Item level sets the tier: T5 (ilvl 1–14, 1 socket max), T4 (15–29, up to 2), T3 (30+, up to 3). Region 1 never exceeds ilvl 40.
- Weapon requirements: Mastery + stats (Skills). Armour:
10 + 1.9 × ilvlin its class stat. - Sources: monster salvage kits (assembled by the blacksmith, keeping the kit's rolls), bandit carried drops, blacksmith stock (normal, +0) — every weapon and armour base is for sale white.
◆Rarity, affixes and the Alt key
Rarity = number of affixes: 0 normal · 1–2 magic (blue) · 3 rare (yellow) · 4–5 epic (orange) · 6 legend (red), at most 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes. 30 affixes (13 prefixes, 17 suffixes) each have three tiers. Tier odds by item level: below 15 only T5; 15–29 T5 70% / T4 30%; 30–40 T5 55% / T4 35% / T3 10%. Drop affix-count weights: 60 / 20 / 12 / 6 / 1.5 / 0.45 / 0.05% for 0–6 affixes.
Popups show only the affix text and value. Holding Alt while hovering adds the prefix/suffix tag, the tier (T5/T4/T3) and the tier's range, PoE-style (setting Hold Alt to show affix tiers).
◆The 12 orbs (stack 999)
| Orb | Use |
|---|---|
| Awakening Seed | 0–1 affix → exactly 2 (guaranteed) |
| Inscription Pearl | 2 → 3 (guaranteed) |
| Ascension Knot | 3–4 → add one (60% / 35%) |
| Crowning Heart | 5 → 6 (10%) |
| Orb of Reweaving | reroll unlocked affixes (rarest trade orb) |
| Measured Dawn | reroll values within tiers |
| Oathseal | lock one affix (milestone reward, bound) |
| Socketwright Core / Threefold Iris | socket count / colours |
| Tempering Cinder, Mender’s Clasp, Caravan Ward | refinement, fracture repair, protection |
Orbs and shards stack to 999 per slot. Most orbs combine from 20 shards (Ascension, Ward 30; Crowning 40; Reweaving 50). Salvage gives Awakening shards by rarity.
◆Sockets and gems
- Weapon group: 1 elemental primary (Winterglass chill, Emberheart burn, Stormseed shock) + up to 2 supports (Lingering Echo duration, Sure Omen chance). Off-hand sockets are visible but inactive when dual wielding.
- Belt group: 1 movement gem (the Mouse2 skill: Cairn Vault, Reed Rush, Silk Roll, Anchor Pull, Mirror Exchange, Veilstride) + up to 2 supports (Frugal Step mana, Quickened Step cooldown).
- Socket count rolls uniformly from 1 to the tier cap. Socketwright Core rerolls the count, Threefold Iris the colours.
◆Refinement +1 … +15
| Target | Success | Unprotected failure | Protected (Caravan Ward) |
|---|---|---|---|
| +1–4 | 100% | — | — |
| +5–7 | 50% | 30% of fails fracture → +4 | hold |
| +8–10 | 20% | 50% of fails fracture → +4, else −1 | −1 |
| +11–15 | 12 / 9 / 6 / 4 / 2% | fracture → +4 | back to +10 |
Fractured weapons stay usable and need a Mender’s Clasp + gold before refining again. Each level adds +2% base damage (+30% at +15). Auras from +8: jade mist → gold motes → ember ribbon → bronze sigils → jade arcs → lilac lightning → violet corona → ivory-gold storm halo (+15). They are VFX attachments per weapon family, budgeted in VFX.
◆Consumables (stack 200)
37 items in seven groups. Potions share one cooldown per type; elixirs and food are one-per-group timed buffs.
| Group | Items | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Potions | Healing Draught S/M/L/Grand, Lamp Oil Tonic S/M/L/Grand, Vigor Flask, Swiftroad Draught | 10 s shared cooldown; Vigor 45 s; speed draught +30% for 30 s |
| Cleanses | Universal Pill, Thawing Tea, Grounding Salt | short ailment immunity after use |
| Elixirs | Iron, Fury, Haste, Scholar, Caravan Remedy | 30 min, out of combat |
| Food | Saffron Flatbread, Date Tea (rest regen), Spiced Lamb Skewer, Pomegranate Sherbet (food buff) | Innkeeper Farah |
| Scrolls | Return Scroll, Waypoint Scroll (teleport), Caravan Marker, Swiftroad Scroll (+20% speed 10 min), Scroll of the Long Road (+50% XP, bound), Prospector’s Charm (+30% find, bound), Phoenix Feather (resurrection) | XP and drop scrolls are never sold for Zoe |
| Resets | Atlas Unwinding Scroll, Codex Unlearning Scroll, Facet Reed | alpha grants 999 |
| Utility | Smoke Bomb, Carrion Lure, Lantern Fuel (event), Field Report Scroll (test phases), Caravan Fireworks (Zoe) |
◆Materials and vendors
- Every monster drops two materials (42 incl. two boss trophies), e.g. Duneplate Beetle → Duneplate Shard and Beetle Lamp-gland. They stack to 999 and sell to any vendor for gold; crafting uses them in later regions.
- Random quantities (round 7): a successful drop is never a fixed amount. Materials drop 1–5, shards 1–3, common
orbs 1–2, consumables 1–3, gold in a ±40% band around the level baseline; bosses roll bigger ranges, elites ×3, and the
ruleset multiplier (alpha ×10) applies after the roll. Equipment is not stackable. All ranges:
drop-quantity.json. - Blacksmith Toragh sells every weapon and armour base white (+0); Alchemist Ses potions, cleanses, scrolls and T5 jewelry; Innkeeper Farah food; Stablemaster Kerem mounts; trainers sell resets; the Zoe Bazaar sells cosmetics only.
- Vendors buy materials at their listed price, normal equipment at 25% and magic or better at 40% of the blacksmith price.
◆Mounts (permanent)
| Level | Mount | Speed | Price | Perk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | Reedback Strider (dune lizard) | 9.0 m/s | quest Q1.11 / 1,500 g | no slowdown in water and reeds |
| 20 | Duneplate Carrier (armoured beetle) | 9.8 m/s | 15,000 g | saddle packs: +1 bag row (12 cells) |
| 30 | Emberhorn Aurochs (ember-horned ox) | 10.5 m/s | 90,000 g | first hit doesn't dismount |
| 40 | Mirage Drake (sand-wyrm) | 11.2 m/s | 250,000 g | glides off ledges, crosses quicksand |
On foot is 6.2 m/s. Mounting takes 1 s out of combat (key T); mounted players can't attack.
◆Cosmetics and side quests
Three cosmetic slots (costume, weapon effect, aura) change looks only. The best ones come from long, hard side
questlines: boss kills, elite hunts, gathering runs, events and quest items that drop only from a boss (rolled per
player, bound). Quest cosmetics are character-bound; Zoe-shop cosmetics are account-wide; none can be traded.
Data: cosmetics.json. The questlines are listed on the Main story page.
◆Caravan Market
(Round 7; amends ADR-018. Everything here is proposed and tuned in the M8 economy simulation.) A market window with
daily and weekly capped stock. Zoe buys progression helpers; gold buys a few things as a gold sink. Rules: per
account caps (all characters share them), daily reset 04:00 server time and weekly reset Monday 04:00, and everything
bought is account-bound, so Zoe can never turn into gold on the player market. Never sold: gear, XP or drop scrolls,
+refinement levels, Orb of Reweaving, Crowning Heart, Oathseal, and the boss-only cosmetic quest items. Data: market.json.
| Stock | Item (pack) | Cap | Price | Why it is safe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zoe · daily | Tempering Cinder Fragment ×10 | 3 / day | 3 Zoe | the refinement fuel; the daily helper is small beside what play drops |
| Zoe · daily | Mender’s Clasp Fragment ×10 | 2 / day | 5 Zoe | repairs fractured weapons |
| Zoe · daily | Awakening Seed Fragment ×10 | 2 / day | 3 Zoe | first crafting step |
| Zoe · daily | Threefold Iris Fragment ×10 | 2 / day | 3 Zoe | socket colour rerolls |
| Zoe · weekly | Caravan Ward Fragment ×10 | 3 / week | 12 Zoe | rare refinement protection, kept to a trickle |
| Zoe · weekly | Ascension Knot Fragment ×10 | 2 / week | 8 Zoe | 4th/5th affix; still needs play |
| Zoe · weekly | Measured Dawn / Socketwright Core Fragment ×10 | 3 / week each | 6 Zoe | rerolls |
| Zoe · weekly | Regent Bell Fragment ×5, Kharuun Ash Lantern ×5 | 2 / week each | 10 Zoe | boss trophy materials for the cosmetic quests; the boss-only drops stay boss-only |
| Gold · weekly | Tempering Cinder (20), Awakening Seed (20), Inscription Pearl (10), HP potion ×50 (4) | per week | 800–12,000 gold, +15% per purchase | pure gold sink |
Design target (checked by the simulation, not guessed): a full daily Zoe set equals roughly 45 minutes of normal play, a full weekly set roughly 4 hours, so spending speeds the loop up a little and never replaces playing.
◆Storage, trade, gold and Zoe
- Bag 12×5 cells (PoE-style footprints: weapons, shields and armour 2×3, helmet/gloves/boots 2×2, belt 2×1, jewelry and stackables 1×1) · bank 64 · stash 4 tabs × 12×10 cells (+4 tabs for Zoe). Orbs, shards and materials stack to 999. Window sizes:
ui-windows.json. - Stalls: one per account, 8 whole-lot listings, up to 8 h, town pads only. Price in gold OR an integer count of one named orb, never both. Escrow plus one atomic transaction per purchase.
- Gold sinks: potions, scrolls, food, white bases, refinement labour, mounts, waypoints, stall fees, respec after 20.
- Zoe (top-up currency): cosmetics, mount skins, stash tabs, character slots, name/appearance changes. It never buys
orbs, gear, XP, drop rate or refinement. Boss-earned Zoe is capped (9 per occurrence, 20/day, 60/week).
Look: a gold coin with the ZOEN logo's sun embossed (compass rays, ring, jade heart) and a milled rim —
ui/zoe-coin(code stand-in;ART-UIK-zoe-coinpaints it). Every Zoe price and balance shows the coin, never a text glyph.
